Flipkart to recruit 12,000 people in 2014
The leading e-commerce company Flipkart will hire 12,000 people this year to boost up its support and technology operations as the homegrown firm confirms there is a strong growth in online shopping in the country. The online retailer has already planned to expand its business transactions across India. The main reason for this decision is because the number of online shoppers is doubled from 8 million in 2012 to 20 million in 2013. It means the average consumers have grown by 50 to 80 percentages online.
"As business scales up gradually, our special focus on hiring is going to be pretty aggressive. We are looking to increase our present team strength from 13,000 to 25,000" Flipkart Chief People Officer ( CPO) Mekin Maheshwari told. The firm will be hire across all levels and functions, with senior leadership and technology hiring being the priority, he added. In engineering alone, Flipkart is planning to hire strong team with 1200 members by the end of 2014.
Flipkart last month took over online clothing seller Myntra designs for an estimated 2,000 crore in deal that gives half of nation’s online shopping by sales. Apart from this Flipkart is also tied up with small and medium enterprises to expand their business in all the areas. Also Flipkart panned to tie up with clusters in Surat, Agra and Ludhiana, where leather goods and synthetic items are produced. So, If Flipkart’s starts recruiting, both the engineering and other qualified students will get a golden chance to work in online shopping company. Hope Flipkart will hire possible number of unemployed people soon.
