Asus launched three new smartphones starting Rs 5,999
Asus is a Taiwanese multinational computer hardware and electronics company. Its products include desktops, monitors, mobile phones, optical storage, network equipment, laptops and tablet PCs. The company’s latest slogan is “In Search of Incredible” and after Lenovo, HP, Dell and it is the world’s fifth largest PC vendor by 2013 sales. Now this Taiwanese tech giant launched three new smartphones under its “ZenFone” range.
Asus already sells tablets in India under Fonepad range and now it expects to sell 4 to 5 million smartphones in the next year. This is mainly because of increasing sales of smartphones from other brands like Moto G, Lumia 630, HTC Desire and Samsung Duos. Asus is expecting to sell about half a million smartphones by this year and also expects to sell about a million pieces of tablets in 2015. The new smartphone ZenFone series include ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 and the price ranges are Rs 5,999, Rs 9,999 and Rs 16,999 respectively.
Asus said the 4 inch ZenFone comes with 1GB RAM, 8GB memory which is extendable up to 64GB. The front camera comes with 0.3MP and rear camera is with 5MP. The ZenFone 5 is with 5 inch display and having two variants, one is with 8GB and the other is 16GB. Currently Asus launched 8GB for Rs 9,999 and the price of 16GB unit is yet to reveal. The ZenFone 6 comes with higher rear camera resolution of 13MP along with 3300 mAh battery.
The company has also launched a portable 7 inch palm sized Android tablet and named as Fonepad 7.
Let’s see how Asus is going to attract smartphone market by competing with other companies like Motorola, Samsung, and HTC.
