PhotoMath App can solve any Math Problem
Many people have a deep-seated fear of Mathematics. There is not a ‘type’ of student that has a problem with maths; it could be anyone. They could be college leavers or mature students, first years or PhD students, local students or international students.
To cope up with Math Phobia, MicroBlink a London based firm developed an app called PhotoMath - The world's first camera calculator which solves the problems quickly & accurately with the help of a smart phone camera.
A user has to point a mobile camera at a printed mathematical equation& has to take a snap and then the app recognizes the problem & does the math. After a few seconds the app sends back the solution with a step-by-step process on how to solve the problem. PhotoMath currently supports arithmetic expressions, fractions and decimals, powers and roots, and simple linear equations.
PhotoMath has some limitations. They are PhotoMath can only read printed text so your handwritten notes cannot be solved by the app& the app is considering the “X” variable as the multiplication symbol.
More than six million people have downloaded the app since its launch. The PhotoMath app is available for free on App stores on iTunes & Windows phone store &is expected to release its android version next year.
